Frequently Asked Questions

The tour meets at Plaza de Oriente, 8, right in front of Café de Oriente, next to the Royal Palace. Please arrive 15 minutes early so our guide has time to fit each child's VR headset before you set off.

There's no strict cut-off, but the headsets and pace work best for children around 6 and up who can comfortably keep a headset on for short stretches and follow simple instructions. Younger children are welcome too as long as a parent stays close by to help them settle into the experience.

It's a different, kid-focused version: instead of the historian-led deep dive used in our standard VR tour, this route frames the story as a 'journey back in time' to the medieval Alcázar, with simpler narration built around legends kids can follow easily.

It runs about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and we keep the route compact around Plaza de Oriente and the Royal Palace area rather than the longer walk down to Puerta del Sol used on the adult tour. It's a manageable distance for families with young children.

Yes, straps are adjustable to fit smaller heads, and our guide checks each child's fit before starting. If a child feels uncomfortable or dizzy at any point, they can simply take the headset off and rejoin whenever they're ready.

Yes, this is a walking tour for the whole family, not a drop-off activity, so parents stay with their children throughout. Many parents end up trying the headset themselves too.

The €18 price covers the walking tour, VR headsets, and an official guide. We just recommend comfortable walking shoes and making sure kids have had a snack beforehand, since it's an active outdoor experience.

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the activity, with bookings open until 12 hours ahead. If you need help planning your visit, our office at Calle Coloreros, 2 - just off Calle Mayor 20, Madrid is there to answer questions before the day of the tour.
