Discover the rich legacy of the Trastámara, Habsburg, and Bourbon dynasties on this thrilling guided tour of the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid

At the appointed time, we will meet at Calle Mayor, 43, headquarters of Fun And Tickets.

From here, we will embark on a journey to the Gallery of the Royal Collections, an illustrious museum inaugurated in June 2023, displaying an extensive exhibition highlighting the precious legacy of the Spanish Crown, meticulously preserved over centuries by the Trastámara, Habsburg dynasties and Bourbon.

Our guided exploration of the Royal Collections Gallery will unfold chronologically, beginning with a captivating dive into the Trastámara era, focusing on pivotal figures such as Queen Elizabeth I, with her iconic portrait. We will then venture into the Habsburg chamber, adorned with a variety of tapestries, paintings, sculptures and artifacts from the reigns of Charles I, Philip II, Philip III, Philip IV and Charles II.

On the floor dedicated to the legacy of the Habsburgs, masterpieces such as the sculpture of La Roldana that represents the Archangel Saint Michael triumphing over the devil stand out, along with the famous painting by Diego Velázquez, “The White Horse”, which captures the essence of riderless equine elegance. Additionally, visitors will find the striking horse and rider armor, once proudly worn by Charles I.

Our odyssey continues at the Bourbon level, where a diverse collection awaits us from the reigns of Philip V, Louis I, Ferdinand VI, Charles III, Charles IV, Ferdinand VII, Isabel II, Alfonso XII and Alfonso XIII. This segment displays a large amount of furniture, clocks, tapestries and paintings from the illustrious 18th century. Noteworthy exhibits also include a splendid 19th-century carriage and moving photographs of the Prisoners’ Office, established by Alfonso XIII within the Royal Palace during the First World War.

Additionally, our tour extends to the basement level, where we will marvel at the archaeological remains of the Islamic Mayrit, unearthed during the construction of the Gallery of the Royal Collections.

After a captivating two-hour exploration, our guided tour of this historic treasure will culminate in its grand entrance.
