Sevilla is well-known for its many architectural wonders. One of the most famous of these are the Alcazar of Seville

In this excursion we will visit the oldest palace in use in Europe, the Real Alcazar of Seville, scene of Game of Thrones. This is formed by a set of palaces of extraordinary beauty and wonderful gardens that began to be cultivated more than a thousand years ago and in which coexist, in perfect harmony, landscapes, galleries, ponds, sculptures and fountains, all of them full of history and legends. We will walk through its courtyards, halls and rooms and enjoy different styles: Islamic, Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance…

The Real Alcazar of Seville was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, along with the Cathedral of Seville and the Archivo de Indias. The complex includes the Palace of Gypsum, with its Hall of Justice, the Mudejar Palace built by King Peter I and the Gothic Palace. Among its courtyards include the Patio de las Doncellas, with beautiful tile baseboards, or the Patio de las Muñecas, which has an interesting collection of capitals.

It was built next to the Gothic palace of Alfonso X at the initiative of King Pedro I, between 1356 and 1366, in its construction collaborated craftsmen from Toledo, Granada and Seville itself, then it was transformed in the time of the Catholic Monarchs and the first Austrias. From the 11th century to the present day, different kings have left their mark.

Marvel at its palaces of different styles, from Mudejar to Gothic and Renaissance, and relax in its extensive gardens, considered among the most beautiful in the world.

As Renaissance contributions we find the admirable tiled altar made in 1504 by Francisco Niculoso Pisano or the pictorial altarpiece preserved in the Admiral’s Room, dedicated to the Virgin of the Navigators. The Renaissance splendor also shines in the so-called Salons of Carlos V.
