The Mezquita-Catedral was built as a mosque at the end of the 8th century on the site of the Hispano-Roman basilica of San Vicente Mártir. It underwent up to three extensions over the years to become the second largest mosque until the 16th century when the Blue Mosque was built.

The Alcázar is a palace-fortress built by the muslim during their occupation in Spain. But most of the building we know today was made by the King Alfonso XI after the succesfull reconquest. It is protected by walls, four towers and it is decorated with a beautiful garden.

Mezquita-Catedral
Since the sixteenth century called the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady, it was built as a mosque in the year 784.

With our guided tour, you can discover the numerous extensions it had, making it the second largest mosque in the world.

After the Christian conquest in the 16th century, the Renaissance cruciform basilica in Plateresque style that we find today was built inside.
