You can discover one of the best beaches on the planet. White soft sand dunes are one of the characteristic of the EsTrenc, spread on a 9km beach line.

Salt mines of Es Trenc. They are the most important salt mines of Mallorca, for their large surface and production, whose origins go back to the 4th century BC, when they were used by the Punics and afterwards by the Romans.

Also you can dicover Bunkers. The strangest elements that you can easily notice on the beach are the defense fortifications dating back to the Forties, that were meant to defend the island of allied troops invasion; an almost intact glimpse of the past still standing in the white mallorcan sand.

Tour Itinerary

Palma de Mallorca

Palma was founded as a Roman camp upon the remains of a Talaiotic settlement. The city was subjected to several Vandal raids during the fall of the Western Roman Empire, then reconquered by the Bizantine Empire, then colonised by the Moors (who called it Medina Mayurqa) and, in the 13th century, by James I of Aragon.

Es Trenc

Spend the day on one of the most stunning beaches on the south coast of Mallorca. Its turquoise and transparent waters due to the fine white sand make it a summer show where you can spend the day, enjoying the sun and the relaxing sound of the waves.

For many, it is one of the most impressive beaches in Mallorca, a protected natural paradise with white sand dunes, turquoise waters that extend as far as the eye can see. One of the most curious elements that can be seen on the beach are defense fortifications that go back to the 40s and whose purpose was to defend the island from the invasion of Allied troops, a piece of history intact.

One of the most interesting attractions of this area are the Salinas de Es Trenc which have a large surface area and salt production of scales. Its origins date back to the 4th century BC and were used by Punics and Romans.

We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and sun cream, since being a protected space, it does not have sun loungers and parasols. At the entrance of the same beach you can get water, soft drinks and cold snacks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every excursion starts from our fixed meeting point at Camí de la Escollera in Palma de Mallorca, and we also offer free hotel pick-up from most accommodations in the south of the island, including Palma, Playa de Palma, Magaluf, Santa Ponsa, Palmanova and Paguera (limited pick-up in Alcúdia). Call us the day before your tour to confirm your exact pick-up time and point.

Es Trenc is a protected natural area, so there are no sunbeds or parasols for hire and no permanent shade structures on the sand. We recommend bringing your own beach umbrella or a sun tent, plus a hat and reef-safe sun cream, since much of the beach is completely open.

Food and drinks are not included in the price. There are a few kiosks near the beach entrance selling water, soft drinks and cold snacks, so we suggest packing a light lunch or some cash if you'd rather buy something on site.

The tour runs 8.5 hours in total, which includes the coach journey to and from the south of the island plus a stop to see the old salt flats and WWII coastal fortifications. That leaves you a generous stretch of unstructured time on the sand to swim, relax and explore the 9km stretch of white dunes at your own pace.

Yes, there is a short walk from the parking area to the beach along a partly sandy, partly stony path, so comfortable closed shoes are a better choice than flip-flops. It's flat and manageable, but wear sun protection since most of the walk is exposed.

Swimwear, a towel, sun cream, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable walking shoes and some cash for snacks or drinks at the beach kiosks. Since Es Trenc has no shade infrastructure, a beach umbrella or sun tent is genuinely useful if you plan to stay all day.

Return pick-up from the beach is at 17:00h in July and August, and at 16:00h during the rest of the season. Your hotel drop-off time will be confirmed together with your pick-up details the day before departure.

Because Es Trenc is a protected natural space, facilities are limited to the area near the main entrance, where you'll find basic public toilets and the drink and snack kiosks. There is no boardwalk, restaurant or built-up beach club along the dunes themselves, which is exactly what keeps this coastline so unspoiled.
