We will visit the old town of Ávila with after crossing its 11th century walls, we will visit the exterior of the cathedral and the Basilica of San Vicente, the Plaza Mayor, and the interior of the Birthplace of Santa Teresa de Jesús. We will make sure the food is not included, or we will have free time. Then we will start the second part of the excursion, our drestino, SEGOVIA. We will contemplate its huge Roman aqueduct, the exterior of the Cathedral of Segovia, the Plaza Mayor and the Alcázar of Segovia, a great fortress throughout history, which reminds us of the Castle of Snow White. We will finish our Walking Tour and return to Madrid.

Tour Itinerary

On our way, we will be able to see and cross through a tunnel, the Sierra de Guadarrama, which is a mountain range that forms the main eastern section of the Sistema Central Ibérico, the system of mountain ranges along the centre of the Iberian Peninsula. It lies between the Sierra de Gredos in the province of Avila, and the Sierra de Ayllón in the province of Guadalajara.

We will visit the old town of Avila and after passing through its 11th century walls, we will visit the exterior of the cathedral and the Basilica of San Vicente, the Plaza Mayor, and the interior of the Casa Natal de Santa Teresa de Jesús.

Lunch is not included and we will have some free time.

Then we will start the second part of the excursion, our destination, SEGOVIA.

We will contemplate its enormous Roman aqueduct, the exterior of the Cathedral of Segovia, the Plaza Mayor and the Alcazar of Segovia, a great fortress throughout history, which reminds us of the Castle of Snowwhite.

Frequently Asked Questions

The tour departs from our office at Calle Coloreros, 2 - just off Calle Mayor 20, Madrid, just a short walk from Puerta del Sol. Please arrive a few minutes before departure so your guide can check you in and the coach can leave right on schedule.

It's a full 9-hour day: you leave Madrid in the morning and return by early evening, around 6:00-6:30 pm. That's enough time to properly enjoy both Ávila and Segovia without feeling rushed between stops.

No, lunch is not included on this option — you'll have free time in Segovia to choose where to eat, from a quick tapas bar to one of the city's classic roast-suckling-pig restaurants. If you'd rather have lunch pre-arranged, ask us about the version with gastronomic lunch included.

This tour includes a guided one-hour walking visit in each city plus drinks and tapas in Ávila, but monument entrance tickets (like Ávila's Cathedral or Segovia's Alcázar) are not included, so you're free to visit only what interests you during your free time. If you'd prefer everything sorted in advance, we also offer this same route with monument tickets included.

Your official guide explains everything twice, once in English and once in Spanish, so both groups get the full explanation rather than a mixed or shortened version. You'll always know when it's your turn to listen.

Each city includes about an hour of guided walking, with some cobblestones and inclines around Ávila's medieval walls, so comfortable flat shoes are a must. Let us know about any mobility concerns when you book and we'll tell you which parts of the route are easiest to manage.

You travel on a modern, air-conditioned coach with one dedicated guide for the whole day, who announces meeting points and times clearly before every free-time break — you're never left guessing where to be or when.

You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure and get a full refund, no questions asked. That gives you flexibility if your Madrid plans change last minute.
