The Museo del Prado serves as a cultural beacon, attracting millions of visitors annually from around the world who come to admire its masterpieces and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of European art history.
Puerta de Alcalá
Next, we will stop by the Puerta de Alcalá, one of Madrid’s most iconic landmarks, situated in the heart of the city at the Plaza de la Independencia (Independence Square). This grand neoclassical monument stands as a symbol of Madrid’s history and cultural heritage.
Plaza de Cibeles
This is the fifth stop of the route and it is one of the most emblematic squares in Madrid, located at the intersection of Calle de Alcalá, Paseo de Recoletos, and Paseo del Prado. It is named after the Cibeles Fountain, which is the centerpiece of the square. In addition to its architectural and historical significance, the Plaza de Cibeles offers stunning views of some of Madrid’s most famous sites, including the Gran Vía and the Retiro Park.
Gran Via 14
We continue our tour towards Gran Via, which is one of the most famous and vibrant streets, often referred to as the city’s main artery. Stretching from the Plaza de España to the Calle de Alcalá, the Gran Via is a bustling thoroughfare lined with grand buildings, theaters, shops, restaurants, and cafes.
